Water biotope – consists of a pond with a non-freezing depth and coastal zones designed to preserve the natural self-cleaning capacity as much as possible, just like in the wild. The exhibit does not contain any filtration equipment. Closely related to this is the location and planting of the pond with the right species and quantity of plants. This condition cannot be met if the pond is stocked with fish. Once the pond has been created, we can observe the life of amphibians, insects, and many birds that are naturally attracted to this biotope. Our aim is to create conditions that are close to those found in the wild, so that they suit the widest possible range of animals that will move in here on their own. The pond can be supplemented, for example, with an observation pier or bridge, or secured with a fence against unwanted intrusion. If it is large enough, it can also be used as an ice rink for skating and other winter activities in winter, under suitable conditions.
- The exhibition area is approximately 100 m² and contains approximately 500 kg of stones.
- It contains approximately 100 seedlings.
- The water area is approximately 40 m2.
- The biotope should be supplemented with an educational board on the given topic.
